St Mary's is located in the centre of the village of Magor, Monmouthshire. It is a Grade I listed building as of 3 January 1963.〔 The church is the lead church of the Magor Rectorial Benefice, led by Revd Jeremy Harris, which serves a population of about 12,000. ==History and architecture== Architecturally St Mary's was "one of the most ambitious churches in the county, though the ambitions were not all realized."〔The Buildings of Wales:Gwent/Monmouthshire, page 373〕 It is in the Decorated style with a prominent, integral, tower. The church was originally dedicated to St Leonard, until the mid-nineteenth century restoration. The porch, of the fourteenth/fifteenth centuries, has buttresses which display "ferocious gargoyles and pinnacles."〔 The interior contains interesting stained glass of the nineteenth century, including The Good Shepherd by Kempe & Co of 1930–1.〔 The church is the burial place of Welsh composer Mansel Thomas (1909–1986) 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「St Mary's Church, Magor」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
